ThinKom Solutions Inc. has partnered with Hughes Network Systems for the development of ultra-low profile antennas to be used for communications-on-the-move solutions by the defence sector. Hughes, one of the leaders in global satellite broadband solutions joined with the California-based managed network and applications service provider in demonstrating the powerful communications devices which will be displayed at the upcoming Military Communications (MILCOM) Conference 2012 in Orlando, Florida.
The new products from ThinKom include portable Ka-band antennas like the ThinPACK® KKA100 and the the ultra-low-profile Ku-band COTM antenna or ThinSAT® 300. According to ThinKom, these new devices are perfectly suited to provide on the go connectivity ideal for military operations. They have been designed to operate under Hughes’ HX System, which makes use of high-performance IP satellite routers.
Hughes said that the technology allows for the crucial real-time quality necessary for communications platforms being employed by defence organizations across the globe. The ThinKom antennas are new-generation products which deliver highly-secure solutions demanded in the battlefield.
